About SEASIR

SEASIR started as a small diving shop on Aka island in 1983.

By now, apart from Aka island, we have shops in Naha and the northern part of the main island of Okinawa and we provide a variety of marine activities.
We also operate accommodations and an online travel agency.

We accommodate many guests from all over the world every year. The number of foreign visitors in 2019 reached more than 10,000 people.

About the internship

Conditions

<Program schedule>

6 nights 7 days (including 5 working days)

*This period can be negotiable.
*Program available throughout the year.

<Conditions>

  • A staff dormitory will be provided free of charge during the internship period.
  • A meal allowance of 1,500 yen per working day will be provided.
  • The interns will need to pay for their own transportation to get to Okinawa.

About the job

You can choose between two type of job:

  1. Marine crew
  2. Office & Reception

<Marine crew>

Marine crew mainly work on boats.
This job is best for those who want to work as a diving instructor in the future.
Women are off course welcome as long as they have confidence in their physical strength and endurance.

Your tasks include;

  • Boat preparation
  • Preparing and cleaning diving gears
  • Help at check-in
  • Guiding guests to the boats
  • Diverse chores on the boats
  • Boat cleaning

<Office & Reception>

You will mainly work at our office or in the store.
Best for those who wish to work using their language and PC skills.

Your tasks include;

  • Help at check-in
  • Preparation for the next day
  • Reservations handling
  • Information cards preparation
  • Cleaning the store

Sample schedule

  • Day1
    Arriving in Okinawa
    Naha international street

    Once you arrive in Okinawa, leave your luggage at our staff dormitory and enjoy sightseeing in Okinawa!

  • Day2
    Orientation
    Introductory diving at the kerama island in Okinawa

    In the morning, try out activities such as introductory diving and parasailing. In the afternoon, we will show you around our head office and our SEASIR NAHA shop. After that, we will give you an orientation about your internship.

  • Day3-6
    Internship
    Giving a briefing on boat

    You will start actual work on site. You may have to take care of customers, but don’t worry: we will always be there to help you.

  • Day7
    Going home
    Diving boat

    On the last day, we will ask you to answer a questionnaire about your internship.
    We hope that you will come back to work at SEASIR!

Requirements

<Foreign language skills>

All of the following requirements must be met to apply:

  1. Basic level communication in Japanese (N4 or above preferred)
  2. Native level in one of the following languages: English, Korean, Chinese, French or German.

<Others>

All of the following requirements must be met to apply.

  1. Being available to work with us for a few years once you are hired.
  2. Being eligible to apply for a work visa by the time you apply.
  3. Having good fitness and none health problems.

Candidates who do not wish to work in Okinawa will be not accepted in this internship.
